The glass is made of sapphire fisheye glass, which has a fisheye effect when viewed sideways like the original, which is not available in the lower version.
This Panerai 1226 has a detail change in the date window on the dial. Instead of a direct opening on the dial, it features a concave inverted trapezoid design. Visually, the new design is shallower, making the date numerals more prominent. Panerai has also stated that this new detail will be applied to the entire Submersible series. In terms of the case, the material is still made of 316L stainless steel, and the whole watch is treated with a brushed process, whether it is the ring drawing of the ring or the satin drawing of the side of the case, it looks very good. Another advantage of the brushing process is that it can resist some small scratches in daily wear, which is incomparable to the polishing process.
The back has a dense back, with some brand and model lettering engraved on the 316L stainless steel caseback, as well as the classic Panerai slow-speed torpedo relief. Equipped with the self-produced P900 movement inside, this movement is still the P9000 of the VS factory, but the model is changed to P900, the performance of the movement is generally very reliable, the repair rate is also very low, and the hour hand can also be adjusted quickly.
The lugs are also designed with quick-release buttons, which can be removed by pushing the button out from the side.
SBF Panerai 1226 is made of dark green natural rubber strap, which is thick and soft, and the tape is made of one-piece molding process, which is unmatched by the market version in terms of workmanship and texture. The buckle is still Panerai’s unchanged stainless steel needle buckle for thousands of years, and the overall craftsmanship is still relatively good, and it will not cut your hands.
