Hello everyone, this is Bokey Watch Industry. In this review, we will introduce the latest upgraded version of the Richard Mille RM055 launched by BBR Factory, also known as the V3 version. Along with this release, there are several other color schemes available, including black and different color combinations within the white series. Today, we will focus on the most popular white ceramic model. Upon factory release, the watch comes with a set of Velcro straps that can be swapped with the original strap. It also includes a specialized four-claw screwdriver for removing the four upper and lower screws. When removing these screws, please note the following: gently insert the screwdriver first, wiggle it slightly to lock into place, and then turn it with moderate force—avoid using excessive strength. Since this is a ceramic case, many watch enthusiasts have accidentally cracked the case by applying too much pressure or twisting forcefully. This is an important precaution to keep in mind.

Then, the biggest upgrade in this version lies in the movement. It adopts a brand-new custom-molded movement, which has significantly improved stability compared to the previous one. This movement is the same one that was rumored to be exhibited at the Hong Kong Watch Fair last year, originally sold for over 18,000 RMB. Now that it’s in mass production, the price has been reduced. This movement now features functional winding gears, with two mainspring barrels. It also achieves hacking seconds (stop-seconds function). When the crown is pulled out to adjust the time, the second hand stops moving. When pushed back in, the feel is very smooth. In the previous movement, although the balance wheel could move, the two mainspring barrels were non-functional. This is the biggest improvement, along with the hacking seconds function, making this movement much more stable and structurally superior to the previous version. This represents a major upgrade, and this model can now be considered the one with the highest simulation accuracy in terms of both movement and case.

Then let’s take a look at the details. All the gears on it are movable. In terms of structure, it can achieve a similarity of over 95% with the original. The thickness of the entire watch case is about 13mm, and the length is 50mm, so the dimensions are also consistent with the original. The overall appearance of the watch is truly very attractive, paired with a white rubber strap and an original folding clasp. The engravings are well done, and the clasp feels smooth when opening and closing. There are also engravings inside, and the opening and closing mechanism works well.

In terms of the craftsmanship of the watch’s rubber strap, it is not particularly perfect. For rubber straps like this, if the mold is not of the highest quality, there will generally be a slight appearance of small burrs, and the tightness of the fit does not look as delicate as the original. However, this is not a major issue, and both straps are the same in this regard. BBR Factory actually produces quite a variety of Richard Mille models, including some tourbillon versions and the RM055, etc. It is likely that subsequent models in the same series will adopt this movement, as its stability is indeed much better than previous movements. Although the earlier movement could simulate functional components, its return rate was astonishingly high, which made many watch enthusiasts hesitant to purchase it. This new version should pose no major problems. For the manually wound movement, it can be wound 60-80 times when completely unwound; if the winding stroke is shorter, it can even be wound over 100 times, and the winding feel is quite good. Alright, this concludes our brief introduction to the V3 version of the RM055, which is currently the highest-grade version available. When purchasing, make sure to identify this specific version. See you in the next review!
