The Rainbow Daytona has always been in the custom model category. Firstly, its sales volume is not high, and there are not many people who can carry off this style, so naturally, there are not many manufacturers producing original replicas. Instead, the lower-priced versions with 7750 movements have better sales. We have also helped customers with some customized modified models, but there are certain operational issues. For example, the customization cycle for dials and bezels is inherently a problem. Moreover, the quality control of the products varies from batch to batch. Especially for dials, the price is extremely high, but the craftsmanship cannot meet the expected results. After all, manufacturers in this industry are all about making quick money—there is no time for poetry and distant dreams. It can be said that none of the custom manufacturers have a sense of responsibility.
During that time, the whole table was less than 10,000, which was really unbearable for ordinary players, especially in this economic environment, there were fewer customers, and we also pushed relatively less, and customized models were sometimes often thankless. However, today I received a version of IPK factory with direct shipments, usually this version is the most stable, literal, circle mouth and other manufacturers are matched at one time, and if it doesn’t work, it will be changed, and there is no problem that a table can be made out by docking several different types of manufacturers. Now Dandong’s 4130 machine is not a monopoly, which is also a good thing, BT factory and C factory basically take this set of movements casually. A small amount will also be sold to manufacturers such as IPK factory or DIW factory who engage in personalized models, saving us the trouble in the later stage, and the most important thing is that the price is greatly reduced.
The IPK Factory Cosmograph Rainbow Daytona features a 40mm dial diameter, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal mirror, a case made of stainless steel, and a dial inlaid with 8 artificial colored gemstone hour markers. The bezel is crafted from seven-color gemstones, shining with vibrant hues of red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, and purple. Beyond the high manufacturing difficulty and time-consuming process, the most critical aspect lies in the selection of gemstones. The essence of the Rainbow Daytona lies in the gradient-colored outer bezel gemstones, and this model introduces a brand-new upgrade to the IPK bezel! Additionally, the thickness of the bezel has been reduced. This upgrade ensures a more uniform gradient transition of these gemstones, and the gemstones are carefully selected and intricately inlaid together, endowing the watch with a magical radiance that makes it impossible to take one’s eyes off at first glance.
The combination of colored gemstones and a black lacquered dial is indeed very pleasing and more harmonious. Upon close observation of these gemstones, a subtle color gradient of 36 trapezoidal gemstones on the bezel can be seen. The gemstones in the most critical positions feature a color arrangement of “red on top, blue at the bottom, purple on the left, and yellow on the right,” which is consistent with the color placement of the original Rainbow Daytona. In addition to the strict requirements for the color of the trapezoidal gemstones themselves, their size is also strictly regulated, allowing only a dimensional difference within one-two-hundredth of a millimeter—approximately a quarter the thickness of a hair. Only in this way can these trapezoidal gemstones finally form a perfect circle closely arranged on the bezel track.
To balance the entire case, a total of 56 moissanites are set on the lugs and crown, with the ears set in symmetry and the crown set in symmetry between the top and bottom, showing consistency.
