

The biggest upgrade in this version lies in its integrated movement, which is a brand-new custom-molded movement developed from scratch. Compared with the previous movement, its stability has been significantly improved. This movement is the same one that was rumored to be exhibited at the Hong Kong Watch Fair last year, originally sold for over 18,000 RMB. Now that it’s in mass production, the price has been reduced. The movement now features functional winding gears, with two mainspring barrels. It also achieves the hacking seconds function (stop-seconds when adjusting time). When the crown is pulled out to set the time, the second hand stops moving, and when pushed back in, the operation feels extremely smooth. The hacking seconds function represents a major improvement, making this movement much more stable and structurally superior to its predecessor. This is a significant upgrade, and as a result, this model can now be considered the one with the highest simulation accuracy in both movement and case design.


Let’s look at the details. The mirror surface is still sapphire glass with a blue anti-reflective coating. The flaw in the front appearance lies in the shock absorber area. The original uses a genuine gemstone shock absorber, while the BBR Factory V3 upgraded version does not replicate this—possibly due to risks associated with being overly precise, so it was omitted, even though adding a sticker gemstone would be relatively simple. The same applies to the backside. Additionally, all these gears are functional. In terms of structure, it achieves over 98% similarity to the original.



The size of the V3 upgraded version of Richard Mille RM055 black ceramic by BBR factory is 49.9mm and the thickness is 13MM. Looking at the data, the size seems relatively exaggerated. However, due to its special case shape, the hands are not obtrusive but rather look very handsome. Richard’s watches are all very recognizable. Most of the watches are large-sized barrel-shaped. The strap is made of natural rubber and comes with a folding clasp. In addition, after this upgrade, BBR factory also gives away a pair of Velcro and a four-pronged screwdriver for changing the strap.

Overall, the BBR Factory V3 upgraded version of the Richard Mille RM055 ceramic model has made significant improvements, especially a qualitative leap in the movement compared to previous versions. The stability of this new movement is indeed much better than the heavily modified 8125 movement used before. Although the previous movement could simulate a functional balance wheel, its return rate was astonishingly high. Additionally, its seconds wheel was positioned much lower than the genuine model, which deterred many watch enthusiasts from purchasing it. This upgrade not only enhances stability but also fully synchronizes the seconds wheel structure with the original design, including the dual mainspring barrel configuration, which significantly improves power reserve.
