APS is a well-known brand in the industry. Originally focusing on integrated movements for Audemars Piguet (AP), it later expanded to include models like Jaeger-LeCoultre, demonstrating strong R&D capabilities. Now that it has entered the Daytona market, APS has also made the prices more accessible. This new see-through Ice Blue Daytona offers excellent cost-effectiveness.
At present, there are a total of two versions, one is a diamond nail model and the other is a Ding model. So some watch friends will ask, what are the differences between the new model and the old model? First of all, the first point is the nail, which will become thinner, the three small eyes will be thinner than before, and the blue on the surface. Now the color of the new model will be lighter, and the color of the old model will be slightly darker.
The mirror surface is made of sapphire glass, and the degree of transparency is relatively high. The speed measurement ring is also made of ceramic material, and the color is also the brown color of the right version. The edge of the ceramic ring is also surrounded by a metal, which is relatively good. Looking at the printing on the plate, I personally feel that the metal edges of the three small eyes are a little thinner, resulting in insufficient reflectivity. The original is a little thicker, so it will be brighter. In addition to this not being in place, the scale and pointer are better done, including this nail, which is also polished. If you look at it, it is also more moist, and the central axis of the pointer is also made solid.
The curvature of the entire case is also the same as the original, which is a curvature of this bend. There is no need to say more about the handle. There is also a three-dimensional sense. The small dot in the middle of the logo is small, and the words on both sides are relatively large. It also has a slope treatment on the edge of the mirror, and there should be some chamfering.
The bottom-penetrating design, the middle is also a sapphire mirror, and there are precious metal lettering on the four corners. For the movement, the APS factory is equipped with a Shanghai 4131 movement, and the dynamic storage is also 70 hours, including the time adjustment direction. The reduction degree of the overall appearance movement is still acceptable, but the grinding is slightly worse than the original, and there is an outer pile under the shock absorber, and there is no other problem.
Finally, to summarize, the APS Factory see-through Ice Blue Daytona performs commendably in terms of replication accuracy and appears flawless at normal social distances. Here’s a brief summary of its imperfections: First, the watch is slightly lighter in weight—the genuine version is made of precious metals and is approximately 70 grams heavier. Additionally, the movement finishing by APS Factory is somewhat lacking. In other aspects, however, it performs quite well.
