Workmanship Review of VS Factory Rolex DIW Carbon Fiber Submariner
First, let’s measure the overall dimensions of the VS Factory DIW Carbon Fiber Submariner. Through Boji’s actual measurements, the diameter is 40mm, the thickness is 12.4mm, and the weight is 60 grams. Due to its carbon fiber construction, it is extremely lightweight—approximately one-third lighter than the official Submariner. Notably, these specifications are identical to those of the DIW-modified original.
On the front appearance, the VS factory launched a total of two colors, one is blue and white circles, and the other is black and white circles, both of which are the same in terms of material and workmanship details. It’s just that the color scheme is different, and the cousins can choose according to their preferences. The dials of the two colors are made of carbon fiber, and the texture of each dial is a little different, because the characteristics of carbon fiber are like this, and it is not the process of lacquered discs that can make each one the same.
The VS factory glass is made of sapphire glass, and the overall mirror surface is very transparent. The 3-o’clock date magnifier also has a blue coating, and the font shape is very well restored, and the font will not appear distorted due to magnification.
In terms of details, take the color of this black and white circle as an example, the night pearl steel tray of the carbon fiber ring is also blackened, and the ring scale is also filled with luminous coating. As for the carbon flower at the mouth of the circle, it is relatively irregular, and each piece is unique, so don’t be too entangled in this, and DIW is also modified with this effect.
The matte black hands and scales of the same process are coated with white luminous coating, and the colors of the two are the same, and there will be no embarrassing situation that the scale is one color and the hands are another color! The end of the second hand is also made white, and the central axis is also silver solid, not directly made black, which is still the more careful place of the VS factory. Like a small factory, the process is insufficient, so it can only be directly made into a black bottom bracket.

In terms of the case, VS has adopted carbon fiber patterns that are synchronized with those of the DIW modified watch, both featuring relatively fragmented textures. Friends who have a basic understanding of the characteristics of carbon fiber materials should know that carbon fiber comes in two types of textures: one is the fragmented carbon pattern like that of this DIW Submariner, and the other is the clearly regular carbon pattern found in Panerai watches. Of course, both are the same in material, with only the direction of the carbon fiber patterns differing, but as long as they adhere to the original design, it is acceptable.
On the other side is the timing handle, with the Rolex crown logo on the top, attention! This crown logo is also with a glow-in-the-dark effect, and the glow-in-the-dark effect is placed at the end!
The case back features a solid design, and the unique carbon fiber pattern is extremely beautiful! In terms of the movement, it still houses the Dandong 3135 movement, which is used in numerous products such as VS Factory and C Factory Submariner series. Its stability has been verified by the market for more than two years. With high precision, low repair rate, and extremely low noise, it outperforms all domestic standard movements like the 2824 and 9015, making it a movement of excellent quality. In terms of functions, it matches the time-adjustment method of the authentic version. The calendar can also be reversed by turning back the time, and there will be no embarrassing issues such as calendar jamming.
The back cover is designed with a dense bottom, and the unique carbon fiber pattern is very beautiful! Here is a brief talk about the intentions of VS, like the low version of the screws on the market does not use pentagram screws like the original, but only uses common Phillips screws instead, and it is also silver, very cheap! This time, the VS factory and the DIW modification brand also use carbonized five-pointed star screws, which can only be opened through special tools.
The strap is made of canvas magic band, and is matched with a carbon fiber buckle, and the VS factory still gave a strap more intimately to facilitate the adjustment of the size. However, Bokey still thinks that VS Factory is a bit picky, and only sends the strap to the side, hahaha! In addition, the strap with the blue circle has blue stitching, and the white circle has white stitching!
In terms of luminescence, the bezel, dial and handle are all ice blue luminous, and the brightness is also relatively high! All photos were taken in Canon 80D, close to what you can see with the naked eye!
The on-wrist effect is extremely stunning. For those who think the Black Submariner is overly common, these two VS Factory DIW carbon fiber Submariner models are worth considering.
In summary, VS Factory’s newly launched DIW Carbon Fiber Submariner 40mm special modified version is equipped with the Dandong 3135 movement. Both the bezel, dial, clasp, and case are made of carbon fiber material. The entire watch is exquisitely crafted and demonstrates sincere dedication, truly worthy of a major factory’s reputation—it far surpasses modifications from small workshops.
