Before starting the review, let’s first discuss the current market situation for this 41mm Green Water Ghost. Some watch enthusiasts have asked me to help them find the VS Factory version or want to wait and see if VS can resume production. I want to make it clear here that VS is currently in a semi-recovered state: after-sales services have not yet resumed, the parts factory has been changed, and the overall appearance and craftsmanship are slightly inferior to Clean Factory’s. Except for VS’s exclusive Dandong 3235 movement with a 72-hour power reserve, no other manufacturers have obtained this movement yet. Unless you specifically want the long power reserve of the Dandong 3235 movement, I still recommend choosing Clean Factory’s version, as its 40+ hour power reserve is sufficient for daily use. Other manufacturers currently producing the 41mm Submariner include EW Factory. Their products are only considered to offer moderate cost-effectiveness, so you can imagine their overall quality—I personally do not recommend them. Additionally, the market is flooded with counterfeit versions imitating Noob, VS, and even Clean Factory. When purchasing, you must pay attention to distinguishing between them. It is best to choose vendors with long-standing experience who provide actual product photos before shipping. Do not blindly trust so-called “QC labels” or small stickers, and remember not to seek small bargains that may lead to big losses.
How is the craftsmanship of Clean Factory’s new Rolex Green Submariner 41mm?
Let’s get back to the point and start today’s review. We won’t elaborate much on how to distinguish between the 41mm and 40mm Submariner models, as Bokey has shared this information before. The differences between the green Submariner versions are more significant: the old 40mm green Submariner features a green bezel and green dial, while the new 41mm green Submariner has a green bezel and black dial, which is visually straightforward.

The color of the luminous pearl is also quite good, at least better than the previous VS Factory version. In my earlier review of the VS Submariner, I mentioned that VS’s luminous pearl was first not very fully filled, and second, although it appeared as a beige-wax color under normal light, it tended to look grayish in dimly lit environments. Clean Factory definitely uses its best bezels for its own models—the luminous pearl has a richer tone, presenting a greenish milk-green color that matches the original, without any grayish or pale white hues. However, the curved chamfer treatment on the metal frame surrounding the luminous pearl is still not fully perfected—the roundness of the metal border is slightly lacking, making it feel only moderately full. In terms of the outer bezel markers, the platinum-filled material exhibits a platinum-gray color, and the markers are deeply engraved. Clean’s outer bezel is indeed the benchmark of the entire industry at present.
Sapphire crystal glass mirror, the overall transparency is OK, and the small crown of laser laser hidden at 6 o’clock is no longer difficult to solve. The three-point date magnifying glass is coated with blue film, the date number of the date is also relatively positive, and the font is also in place.
Speaking of the dial, the overall oily black disc is definitely easier to handle than the 40mm green side, and the sinking black hole effect of the pointer axis and the three-point date position is not missing. The lettering is clearly engraved and the small crown at 6 o’clock, representing the new 2 Series calibre, is clearly visible. In terms of scales, the 6 and 9 o’clock bar scale and the inverted triangle at 12 o’clock are all rounded, after all, the previous XF, VS, N and other versions have fixed the problem that Clean cannot go back. The pointer system, three-dimensional pointer, pointer edge grinding without burrs, the solid effect of the tapered shaft sleeve of the same process as the central shaft and the original are OK, and will not be repeated here.
Let’s look at the size data. The genuine Rolex new Green Submariner has been changed from the original 40mm to 41mm, but the actual measurement is 40.5mm – this is data Bokey obtained by consulting a lot of genuine product information. The thickness remains the same as before at 12.5mm, and the weight is 162 grams. It is quite substantial.
In terms of the case: The case is made of 904L stainless steel, and Clean Factory has remolded the entire case. By observing the changes in the four lugs, it can be seen that the lugs of the new model are narrower and thinner than those of the old Submariner. In fact, many vintage Rolex watches feature a “slim lug” design with narrower lug widths. When the second-generation Green Submariner was launched in 2010, Rolex switched to a “wide lug” design, giving the watch a larger overall appearance. This year’s new Green Submariner has returned to Rolex’s traditional design.
Bokey has also measured through disassembly that the lug spacing of the new 41mm Green Submariner is 21mm, which results in a different strap width between the new Submariner and the second-generation Submariner. Therefore, the links between the two cannot be replaced or used interchangeably.
Remove the strap and take a look at the inside of the head of the case, there is also an engraved code, which is still more attentive to the C factory!
The sides of the case are polished, and the head and shoulder guards have been slightly adjusted compared to the old Green Ghost, and the width of the new model is narrower, which is to be more harmonious with the thin lugs.
The head gear is angular and not piercing, and the small crown pattern adopts the relief process, which is full of three-dimensionality.
The new Clean Factory 41mm Green Submariner also features a solid case back design. Clean Factory applies a Doraemon sticker on the case back when shipping, but this should not be used as a basis for identifying genuine Clean Factory products. Many people may wonder why double-sided tape is applied to the four lugs. This is mainly to prevent scratches on the lugs during strap installation or removal.
The size of the triangular pit texture of the bottom cover is the same as that of the genuine product, including the entire edge of the bottom cover, where the fit is very high, and there will be obvious gaps and planes higher than the bottom shell after other factories are tightened.
The overall polishing of the back cover is also in place, and the back of the case back also has Rolex brand lettering
The new Clean Factory 41mm Green Submariner is equipped with a Shanghai-made 3235 movement. Compared to the VS Factory version, this movement has slightly less power reserve—only about 50 hours instead of 70 hours—but it still meets daily wearing needs!
However, in terms of the structure and appearance of the entire movement, it can reach about 90% of the original 3235 movement. The accuracy is also very high, the daily error is within ±8 seconds, and the time adjustment method is the same as the genuine product.
The strap drawing process is very delicate, and the feel to the touch is also good, directly on a buckle map, the crown is very three-dimensional, and the combination of the various parts of the buckle is also very OK, which is much more detailed than VS. Cousins who have read the Clean Coke circle and log review shared by Bokey before should know that the supplier of Clean’s shell and strap is the same as AR, so Clean’s shell strap is the same as AR, and it is the best on the market in terms of material, detail processing, and feel, after all, many cousins have asked for more money to change AR straps.
How to distinguish the genuine Clean/C Factory Green Submariner from counterfeits? Avoid buying inferior imitations!
The buckle code of Clean Factory is “1 L D” – why add spaces here? In fact, it’s to enhance your memory, helping you better distinguish genuine Clean Factory Green Submariners from fakes and avoid buying inferior imitations! All buckle codes of Clean Factory have a slight spacing, while counterfeit products on the market typically have these codes tightly packed together. We can identify genuine Clean Factory products by checking this code and the “L shape” of “ROLEXSA” in the red-circled area of the image below. This detail can be captured by zooming in with a mobile phone camera. On fakes, the horizontal stroke of the “L” is relatively straight, whereas on genuine Clean products, the horizontal stroke of the “L” has a slight downward curve and a shorter extension. This includes the previously mentioned details of the luminous pearl and the center axis of the hands.
The new Rolex Calibre 3235 is in a different direction from the old Calibre 3135, which rotates the crown hand clockwise, while the 3235 turns the crown hand clockwise, just like the Calibre 2824. However, the calendars of calibres 3135 and 3235 are instantaneous. Both of these functions of the Clean’s calibre 3235 are perfectly synchronized with the original, and the winding feel is the same as the original. The stability of the movement and the state of the movement have been tested by Bokey. Finally, let’s talk about the luminous, ice blue luminous, the brightness and effect are good, but like all replicas, the durability is a little worse.
